WildSojourns Nature Awards
All image entries are initially scrutinised by a panel of curators who are experts in the fields of photography. These images then will be passed on to the Jury Panel for final Judging. Photographers whose images move into the final round of judging will be emailed and requested to send high-resolution images or RAW files, and detailed captions. Representatives from WildSojourns Nature Awards will email all entrants to announce the finalists. Each photograph is judged purely on on technical quality, originality, and artistic merit.
Megh Roy Choudhury
Megh Roy Choudhury, is one of India’s well known award-winning Wildlife Photographers. She is the Director of WildSojourn Admodum LLP- a company dedicated to Wildlife. She is also the Editor-in-chief of one of the most prestigious online Wildlife Magazines ‘WILD SOJOURNS “. Professionally she is an academician and her work in wildlife photography has earned her tremendous respect and love among her peers!! Many of her works have been featured and published in various National and International publications and books. She has conducted various seminars, workshops and webinars on Wildlife Photography and Conservation. Her presence as the judge has graced many prestigious national competitions. As a part of her philanthropic endeavours, she is the Chief Trustee of the Trust “Chinu Datta Gupta Memorial Foundation” catering to human welfare and nature conservation .
Dr Prasanna AV
Dr. Prasanna is not only an accomplished and highly skilled neuro and spine surgeon but also a passionate wildlife photographer. He is a Director of WildSojourn Admodum LLP- a company dedicated to Wildlife. He possesses a deep reservoir of dedication when it comes to saving lives and helping others, serving as a true inspiration. While maintaining calmness and serenity in a highly stressful professional life, he seeks solace and joy in capturing the incredible beauty of the natural world through the lens of his camera. With a keen eye for detail and a genuine love for nature, he skillfully captures breathtaking moments that showcase the intricate complexities and captivating allure of wildlife. Through his photography, he invites others into his world where the wonders of medicine and the magnificence of nature gracefully intersect.
Puskar Basu
Puskar Basu is a passionate natural history photographer, national-level swimmer and
mountaineer. Adventure skills and affinity towards wildlife of this freelancer take him to near—
inaccessible wildlife refuges all across the globe, to explore and document the lesser
photographed species and bring out the little-known facts about them. His unique exploits
have brought him closer to nature and made him take the path of conservation through
photography. He always endeavours to speak up for those who do not have a language to
communicate with humans. His work has been widely published in BBC Wildlife, Sanctuary
Asia, Smart Photography and other coveted publications. Presently he is working on the
unique biodiversity of the Trans and Higher Himalayas to showcase its incredible biodiversity
and protect the fragile ecosystem.
Yashodhan Bhatia
Yashodhan Bhatia is an award-winning conservation photographer. An entrepreneur and businessman from Jamnagar, he considers himself fortunate to live here and thus grasp the opportunity to spend much time in the wilds, be it the seashores, coastal belts and salt pans. He has been pursuing wildlife photography with a special emphasis on the avifauna. This western most coast of India has been his prime geographic area of interest in bird photography. He firmly believes that simply documenting the species is not enough; more or less the pictures should look like art which can stimulate the viewers and bring them closer to conservation.
His contribution to conservation photography has led him to achieve various national and international awards along with the prestigious Asia First Prize by Singapore Environment Council, Singapore (2004), Nature in Focus (2016), and BirdPoty (2019). He was also instrumental in organizing a national-level birding program like Saevus Bird-a-thon at Jamnagar. His pictures and articles are published in National Geographic Traveller along with Sanctuary Asia, Saevus, Indian Birds and Creative Image magazines.
Soumendra Mukhopadhyay
Soumendra is an engineer by profession and a photographer by passion.
His photography works have been published in India’s leading photography magazines including Smart Photography, Wild Sojourns, Wild Trails and many online forums including National Geographic. His various articles and stories on photography and travel have also been published in various publications and online platforms. He also is a professionally trained naturalist. He is presently the admin on various online forums and has been on the Jury panel for various competitions. So far he has led 100+ Photo walks across the country and has conducted Workshops on Basic Photography, Outdoor macro photography, and Landscapes in India and Abroad.
